The Collaborative Cross

A revolutionary resource for genetics and medical research
The Collaborative Cross is a series of recombinant inbred strains derived from a randomized cross of eight inbred mouse strains. The protocol was designed by members of the Complex Trait Consortium.

The Collaborative Cross can be thought of as a huge family tree of one thousand “cousins” descended from eight diverse great-grandparents. The Australian Collaborative Cross is being produced by Prof Grant Morahan, based at The Western Australian Institute for Medical Research, where it is also known as “The Gene Mine”.

We welcome collaborators who would like to characterize The Collaborative Cross for their research projects. Click on the links below for more information about The Collaborative Cross.
